The EFPC will be hosting a webinar on”Social prescribing – unlocking primary health care’s full potential with the support of the community” , on the 12th of September 2024, at 12h30-13h30 (CET), by Dr André Biscaia, Dr Cristiano Figueiredo, Julia Hotz, Marcello Bertotti and Prof Sónia Dias.
Social prescribing allows primary health care (PHC) professionals to address their patients’ social, practical and emotional needs by connecting them to community-based activities, services and support. It puts into practice a person-centred, health-promoting, and community-orientated approach pursued by PHC since the 1978 Alma Ata Conference. Although social prescribing looks like a simple idea, it entails many challenges, from the implementation to the evaluation, due to its inherent multidisciplinary and intersectoral complexity and the need to adjust to local needs, resources and culture. The PHC team can lead, support, and benefit from social prescribing implementation in their community. Join our webinar to understand how social prescribing can unlock your full potential in PHC.
